6 Random Things I’m Learning in Post Grad

6 Random Things I’m Learning in Post Grad

1. Yeah, the job search sucks, but don’t just panic-apply to every job you see. Be intentional with your applications. Really take the time to read the job descriptions and thoughtfully apply. Don’t just apply to as many jobs as you can out of fear. It’s better for both you and the employer to be in a role that you actually enjoy!

2. Enjoy the stillness. I feel like college is so go, go, go! But now you have so much free time or a very set schedule. Yes, it can feel mundane at times, but there is still purpose in it. It’s good to rest and enjoy downtime! Each day from the Lord is a gift, even if it’s a slow one, so enjoy it and be thankful for this time!

3. Friendships take more intention. You’re not down the street from your best friends anymore, which is hard. It’s going to take a little more now that you’re not together all the time. But it’s so worth it. Friendship is such a blessing, and we are called to steward that. Remember to be extra intentional now and put a little more work into your friendships!

4. Comparison truly is the thief of joy! Not one person’s life is supposed to look the same. God has unique and exciting plans for each of us. Don’t get so caught up in what others are doing or feel behind because you’ll miss out on all the joy right in front of you!

5. Take it one day at a time. I love Proverbs 16:9: “A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” Yes, it’s good to plan ahead and be prepared, but we’re not fortune tellers. Don’t worry about tomorrow because today has enough of its own. Be present in the moment and be excited for all the things to come.

6. Don’t idolize your future. Have big dreams and be excited about what’s to come, but don’t let it take your focus away from God. We move from a place of peace and joy with the Lord. Instead of being so consumed and worried about what your life is going to look like, be thankful for where you currently are. Move with peace and excitement for what the Lord has planned!

God is the author of your story and there is no one better to write it! Abide in Him because He’s got you!
